TIPS FOR USING THE

RIGGING THE JIG FLARE SPOON

WHAT TO USE

Anglers have the option of fishing the Jig Flare Spoon as set line or dead stick, but you can also jig the Jig Flare Spoon!  In addition, the Jig Flare Spoon can be presented in a variety of ways.  Simply attach your line to one of the horizontal line guides and go from a vertical presentation to a horizontal presentation in seconds! It's that easy.

ROD SELECTION: DEAD STICK / SET LINE

The ideal rod for set line fishing the Jig Flare Spoon is has a length between 30-36 inches.  A soft tip slowly transfers weight into a strong backbone.  Consider an orange or neon tip as a visual indicator to bites and bait action.

ROD SELECTION: JIGGING

When Jigging the Jig Flare Spoon, consider a rod length of 28-32 inches.  A solid blank with a heavier tip is helpful when jigging larger spoons such as the Jig Flare Spoon.

BAIT SELECTION: DEAD STICK / SET LINE

Live Bait rigs are deadly with the Jig Flare Spoon! Consider small suckers, or large shiners and fatheads.  You can also swap out the treble hook for a larger live bait presentation.

BAIT SELECTION: JIGGING

If you are jigging, the best option is a minnow head, or several euro larvae.  Don't shy away from trying soft plastics such as minnow heads if the fish are hungry.
